About D-Day Wear®: The commemorative military clothing company.
First opened in 2004, with the mission as a commemorative Military apparel retailer and clothing designer to keep history alive, one garment at a time. While giving back to those who served.
D-Day Wear® clothes are designed to remind people of all ages how fortunate we are that so many gave so much for our countries in their time of need. We want people of Canada, The United States of America (USA), Great Britain / The United Kingdom (UK) and other countries that were part of the Allied Forces: Austria, Belgium, Czechoslovakia (Slovakia / Czech Republic), France, Greece, The Netherlands, Norway and Poland to proudly wear our clothing designs as a symbol of patriotism on a daily basis.
Soon, after the last World War II Veteran passes away, their stories will just become a page in a history book. The onus is on us as a society and caring community to keep the soldiers' sacrifices alive. People wearing D-Day Wear® garments with our unique commemorative designs will create / generate year-round public awareness while paying tribute to all the heroic Veterans and the brave individuals that are presently serving our great nations. Be it a commemorative t-shirt, a sweatshirt, a hat, or a hoodie, we believe that our screen-printed and embroidered designs are artistically unique and any person regardless of their country of origin wearing our commemorative designs will be making a statement. As it states on our business card, “Patriotism never goes out of style”.
More about D-Day Wear® the fashion apparel leader for celebrating military events; our customers enabled us to donate $54,250.00 and we participated in providing a name plaque for every fallen Canadian soldier from the D-Day Invasion: The plaques have been placed on the memorial pillars at the Juno Beach Center in Courseulles-sur-Mer, France on the beach where they gave their all. We were able to have this all in place for the 70th anniversary of D-Day in 2014. This will forever mark in history the ultimate sacrifice they made at the beaches of Normandy on D-Day June 6th, 1944
At the time, other than the Juno Beach Center, there were not any memorial pillars to honour / honor the sacrifices made by the American and British soldiers that were K.I.A. on Omaha, Utah, Gold and Sword beaches.
Having completed the first part of our mission to honour / honor every fallen Canadian Soldier, we ended our relationship with the Juno Beach Association and changed our philanthropic direction.
D-Day Wear® is now focused on promoting awareness and funds to provide Veterans suffering from P.T.S.D. with professionally trained service dogs to help them overcome the unseen wounds of war.
To complement our new fundraising initiative, we have released a song and video called “This Flag Flies Free” which was written by D-Day Wear’s Founder and President Joe Wilson. The song was recorded by an Iraq war Veteran from Mississippi named Chas Evans (Music for my lyrics) and the video for the song was produced by Marine Veteran Chris Nobles (MMIT Design) from Lexington, SC. Chris did two tours in Iraq.
The goal of the song is to raise $1,000,000 for P.T.S.D. / P.T.S.S. So. Please do listen to the song and download it for a price of a cup of coffee. It sounds like a lot of money, but we figure that we need a million people in the world to download it for a dollar and we can get something done worldwide.
You can check out the song here www.thisflagfliesfree.com many people are bringing awareness to P.T.S.D. / P.T.S.S., but something must be done to raise funds. Service dogs can cost up to $30,000 to train and there is a waiting list for Veterans and First responders to have their own service dog. So please help us help them.
To date, our customers have enabled us to donate over $85,365 to various organizations through the sale of our unique commemorative clothing brand and for that, we thank you.
