This commemorative WW2 Military t-shirt design strives to best depict the Invasion of Normandy from a Soldiers perspective. in 2023, at the Canadian National Exhibition, I met Rob Aitchinson, a poet from London England who gave me permission to put his Longest Day poem on a shirt. When interviewed about the poem Rob Aitchison said that whenever he asked his grandfather about D-Day he would give one sentence answers and not talk about it. He wrote this poem using those answers

Do not call me hero
When you see the medals that I wear
Medals maketh not the hero
They just prove that I was there
Do not call me hero
Now that I am old and grey
I left a lad returned a man
They stole my youth that day
Do not call me hero
When we ran the wall of hail
The blood, the fears, the cries, the tears
We left them where they fell
Do not call me hero
Each night I stop and pray
For all the friends I knew and lost
I survived my longest day
Do not call me hero
In the years that pass
For all the real true heroes
Have crosses, lined upon the grass
The Longest Day quote was actually from Field Marshall Erwin Rommel, (The Desert Fox). He told his aide: When D-Day began, "Believe me, Lang, “The first twenty-four hours of this invasion will be decisive; the fate of Germany depends on the outcome. For the Allies as well as for Germany, this will be the longest day.”
